Project consisted of a complete rehab and expansion of the existing first floor (north) men’s restroom in Building 20000, Hangar 3. Work included complete gutting of the existing restroom, including concrete floor, creating an opening between and expanding into the existing storage room. Existing storage room 3162 roll up and man doors to be closed off to match the existing building. The basis of the interior design was to be a clean, contemporary look incorporating practical materials, and fixtures to meet the Navy’s needs. The interior color palette consists of a classic, yet contemporary color scheme. A combination of warm neutrals in light and dark tones gives the space warmth. Accents of historical photographs and stainless steel give the neutral canvas a feeling of history as well as today's cutting edge technology. The overall scheme is historical and current aviation at China Lake.
