Design-Build Building 511 Cafe Renovate at NWSSB, Norco, CA
This design-build project renovated rooms 108, 108A, 108B, and 110 in Building 511 at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona, Norco, California to create a new café. The renovation added a commercial grade kitchen which included appliances (with supporting electrical and plumbing modifications) and the installation of counters, flooring, and cabinets.
The renovation also included the installation of an interior glass wall and door, an exterior arch door, an interior glass partition that retracts into the ceiling, pony wall, built-in trophy case, and a wood accent wall. The ceiling is a combination of hard lid and high exposed ceiling with exposed ducting. MZT performed HVAC and fire suppression/detection system upgrades. The existing electrical panel was relocated for the installation of flat screen monitors and speaker systems. The flooring and cove is polished concrete for a unique and durable aesthetic. For the patio and trellis outdoor seating area, we provided red integrally colored concrete to coordinate with the interior color scheme and deliver a fun, useful café space for the Navy. |
