NBC Lankershim Blvd 1st Floor Studio and Lounge Space, Los Angeles, CA
This project was to renovate an existing bank facility into a usable meeting area. Due to increased occupancy loads, the existing 8,000 SF space needed fire barrier updates. We removed all of the existing ceilings, cleaned the wiring and supports, and painted the exposed ceiling. We converted many perimeter walls to 2 Hour Fire Rated walls. Doors were upgraded to Fire Rated Doors with closers. The existing bathrooms were demolished and upgraded for more capacity and ADA Compliance. Fire Dampeners were installed into the HVAC Ducting to create a fire rated envelope. The storefront door system was replaced with 8’ wide entrances to get equipment in the area easier. Lighting packages were upgraded to LED Lights with Lutron Controls. This project had 2” Thick 4’x4’ tiles embedded into the light weight concrete deck. To reduce demolition costs and repairs of the deck we collectively value engineered a floor float system that smoothed leveled and concealed the existing flooring.
This project involved modifications to the following: Fire Alarm, CCTV, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Structural, Framing, Drywall, Insulation, Paint, and Waterproofing. MZT utilized our in-house framers to build the metal stud walls and ceilings, our carpenters to install the doors, in-house dry wallers to repair the walls, laborers for demolition, and painters for paint. This project was completed utilizing 100% Union Work Force. |
