DESIGN BUILD

As an added benefit to clients, MZT has the rare advantage of being one of the few small businesses with a turn-key management structure and in-house Design Division. MZT’s skilled design team is made up of Design Managers, Design Quality Control Managers, Architects, Engineers, CADD and BIM Specialists, and design support personnel, all of whom have extensive experience with military construction. MZT’s in-house design team works hand-in-hand with other specialty designers, architects, and engineers, as necessitated by each individual project. Along with our own in-house Design Department, we count among our many strengths the strong design-build affiliations we have with several Architectural/Engineering firms in our area of operations.

To date, MZT has been awarded over 150 facilities projects. MZT staff work on design-build projects for local jurisdictions including court houses, detention facilities, wastewater treatment plants, industrial operations, administrative, hospitals, cafes, homeless shelter, office spaces as well as warehousing structures. We are currently engaged in Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity and job order contracts for federal agencies which feature design-build task orders.

One of the key benefits of the design-build acquisition approach is the ability to ''fast track'' construction projects to accelerate project schedules while gaining cost efficiencies. MZT assists clients in achieving these benefits by integrating designers and contractors during all phases of the project. Specifically, key members of our experienced construction staff perform ''constructability assessments'' of the design during its development. The Project Design staff works closely with our construction workforce during the construction and post-construction phases to quickly and effectively resolve functional or quality issues should they arise. This is a critical element of our construction quality culture.
